Commercialisation

GIAN assists innovators to take their innovations to market either through the venture development route or the technology transfer method. The following could be the possible routes to commercialisation:

  1. Enterprise set up solely by the innovator for commercial scale production
  2. Enterprise set up by the innovator as a joint venture with another experienced entrepreneur for commercial scale production
  3. Enterprise set up by a third party entrepreneur under technology transfer by the innovator
Technology transfer is typically structured as part down payment and part as sales linked royalties. In addition, the technology transfer deal can also be structured to have components like equity sharing, profit sharing etc.

GIAN can also play an active financial role in commercialisation by providing venture capital funding through the Micro Venture Innovation Fund (MVIF).
