GIAN-North is a grassroots technology business incubator which incubates and commercializes innovative technologies developed by various grassroots innovators from the states of States of, Rajasthan, Uttranchal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, NCT of Delhi and UT of Chandigarh. It is our belief that the innovations done by the knowledge rich but resource poor grassroots innovators capture a latent demand of a wide section of the Indian consumer which is currently unmet by the formal sectors of the Indian industry. Providing that key linkage between the distributed and fragmented base of these innovators and the Indian industry through the process of technical and design value addition, IPR protection and business planning is our mission.

By associating with GIAN you can benefit in following ways:

1. Demand for your product/components, which are embedded in GIAN technology, can be increased through this association.
2. We provide you with new business opportunities for growth and diversification. We provide you access to new technologies and products at GIAN. These technologies have been protected through patenting and mass production of these products will lead to good profit margins.
3. We help you solve some of your problems through the technologies at GIAN. Most of the innovations at GIAN are the solutions to problems that the innovators were facing. As such these innovations can help you also solve some of your problems.
4. You can act as a channel for generating / increasing demand for GIAN's innovation / technologies by providing the linkages to GIAN through your networks.
5. You can become a part of the innovation movement by associating with GIAN. In case you don't want to commercialize these technologies you can help develop their prototypes.

You can become a part of GIAN in any one of the following ways:

1. You / Your organization can take up some of the products/innovations of GIAN and commercialize them. The technology can be transferred to your organization and you can take up the production of the product. For technology transfer, fees will have to be paid to GIAN, 50% of which will be subsequently paid to the innovator and rest will be distributed among NIF, SRISTI, GIAN and used for further assisting innovators.
2. GIAN and you / your organization can jointly take up the development of prototypes and final product. Being near to consumer and well aware of the requirements of the consumers, your organization can better tell GIAN what type of product design, features, size, etc will be more suitable for the final product. For this your organization can take up prototype development of the technologies at GIAN.
You / Your organization can be a part of product development and business development process of GIAN. For entrepreneurs, GIAN can also provide for some funding initially through its Micro Venture Innovation Fund (MVIF). This funding can be repaid back from the profits generated from sale of products.
